Laboratory for Planetary and Atmospheric Physics


The Laboratory for Planetary and Atmospheric Physics (LPAP) is one of the 12 research units of the Department of Astrophysics, Geophysics and Oceanography (AGO) of the University of Liège (ULg).

It was founded in 1993 by Prof. Jean-Claude Gérard after the first UV images of aurorae on Jupiter were obtained with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST).

Today, LPAP is headed by Prof. Denis Grodent and gathers 4 research groups focusing on different aspects of planetary atmospheres and their interactions with the magnetospheres and oceans:
